Ummm, what about the over 45 men that want to ride the Sport category?  Not saying I'm over 45, but if I was ::), there doesn't seem to be a sport category for me...I mean...those people.

I've always felt that it's been unfair to hold races which don't follow the same category guild lines as the USA Cycling races do.
As I'm almost hitting that 45 age limit myself, and getting beat out all last year in these races by the 32 -40 year olds, I 2nd guess weather or not to do this year race just to get crashed again in the sport 32-45 group.

I'd like to point out the great job the organizers did this last weekend for the Tarwheel XC CNF by following this example. It's not about the amount of people for each category, but the fairness of racing against equal age groups.

We will be following the same categories as the tarwheel to keep the series in line.
I will have the update up soon. Start times will be different than the tarwheel.
Sorry for the confusion.

If it is getting too hard to compete against the younger riders just sign up for ss.

I've never done a race and am very interested in doing this to start doing them...I have always enjoyed mountain biking tremendously, but have never thought of myself as a fast biker or a racer, but why not

What are the different categories?

is there a way to know route the race will take around crabtree for training?

Anything else to know for 1st timers?

Talking race routes and training is not something to do for this race.  It's a great race to start with.  I'd ride crabtree so you know your way around and show up to have a good time.  This race is going to be a blast.  I'd use it as a way to see what races are like so just show up and roll with it rather than trying to prepare for it.

Ha, that's funny.  The guy who won the SS at Tarwheel is 48 (correct me if I am wrong Allen).

Says the guy who keeps b$tching that the route has not been posted yet. ;D

Yes but I can do that. Ill be at a disadvantage with my heavy bike. I have to prepare.

I'm considering entering my 6 yr old boy and 8 yr old girl, both of whom have never raced, but do great things at LCCP. Two questions:

1) Roughly how long will the course be for them?
2) Would I be allowed to ride with them, or would they need to ride alone?

thanks,
Dave
